DISTRICT OF NEW YORK - PORT OF NEW YORK
I, ? Vogelgesang, Master of the SS Columbia do solemnly, sincerely and truly swear that the List or Manifest, subscribed by me and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the District of the City of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the Passengers taken on board of the said SH Columbia at Hamburg and Southampton from which port said vessel has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the calling of each of said Passengers, the location of the compartment or space on said vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country of citizenship of each, and also the destination intended by each; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the dates and causes of death, and the names and ages of those who died; also of the pieces of baggage of each; also a true statement so far as can be ascertained with reference to the intention of each alien passenger as to a protracted sojourn in this country. been omitted.
There were no deaths recorded on this passage, therefore the death column has been 
omitted.
Space Occupied for all of these passengers is recorded as Tweendeck.
An umlaut was placed above every lower case u in names, occupations, & countries.
Many female occupations are listed as sgle., which is believed to be an abbreviation 
for single.
Many male occupations are listed as workm., which is believed to be an abbreviation 
for workman.
Passenger # 325, Given name could be Stefan?. The first ? looks like other t's, but is
  not crossed, while the second ? looks like other f's, but is crossed. This could be
  recorder's error. The third ? does not go below the line or above the middle of the
  space. Could possibly be an o.
Passenger # 327, Surname could be Mitrovia, Mitrovin, Mitovia, or Mitovin.
Passenger # 328, Surname could be Lefitter. The ? is as tall as the t after it and is
  crossed with one line through both letters, but ? letter goes up then comes down at
  an angle more like a mountain peak.
Passenger # 335, Surname might be Rohmer instead of Rohwer.
Passenger # 338, ? in given name could be an a or n. ? letter does go not below the line
  or above the middle of the space.
