Transcriber's Notes:
The use of an * indicates an omission or error made by the original
recorder.
The use of a ? indicates a word or letters that could not be read, due
to quality of original document.
The sworn statement has been reconstructed due to a large area being
completely blacked out. The original manifest looks like it may have
been torn in several areas throughout, so that some of the information
is not legible or is missing altogether.
The initial of the Captains first name could be an H or a W.
The column "Intended Destination or Location" for all passengers was the
U.S., so this column has been omitted for spacing reasons.
The column, "Hailing place or Place of starting" for all passengers was
Hamburg so again, this column has been omitted.
The word Tweendeck is written lengthwise in the compartment column.
The column "Transient or Intransient is blank for all passengers except
for #43,52,53,67 and #84 and these all have the word citizens written
in.
I have numbered this list consecutively 1-155.
In the occupation column for most of the female passengers, it is listed
as sgle, and could be single woman.
# 1 The occupation could be workman but the last letters are missing.
# 2 The occupation could be woman. Only the first 3 letters are
shown, however the word woman is used in the occupation column of other
female passengers.
# 3 The sex column is in a torn area and unreadable but it could be
male going by the names of the passengers.
# 4 The sex column is in a torn area and unreadable but it could be
male going by the names of the passengers.
# 5 The sex column is in a torn area and unreadable but it could be
male going by the names of the passengers.
# 1 The column "Country of which they are citizens", is blank.
# 2 The column "Country of which they are citizens", is blank.
# 3 The column "Country of which they are citizens", is blank.
# 4 The column "Country of which they are citizens", is blank.
# 5 The column "Country of which they are citizens", is blank.
# 6 thru 12, The column "Country of which they are citizens" is
unreadable and blank in some areas. Possibly could be Germany or Russia.
# 11 Could Elizabeth Just, #11 and Elise Just, #149 be one and the
same? The data in all columns for each is the same. The country(Germany) is
missing from passenger #11 and all of the data for passenger #149 has been
crossed out.
# 14 The first name could be an abbreviation for Stanislav.
# 15 First name has a raised A on the end, maybe an abreviation for
Augusta.
# 24 Occupation could be merchant.
# 34 The first name could be an abbreviation for Andreas or Andre.
# 36 The column "the country of which they are citizens", lists this
passenger as as a citizen of Poland. Passengers #34 & 34 seem to be
the parents or other family members and the country listed is Germany.
# 37 The column "the country of which they are citizens", lists this
passenger as as a citizen of Poland. Passengers #34 & 34 seem to be
the parents or other family members and the country listed is Germany.
# 40 The surname could be Fromand or Fronand.
# 45 The original manifest was damaged and the data for this passenger
is missing.
# 58 thru 66, the surname could also be Suster.
# 76 The data in all the columns for this passenger has been crossed
out.
# 77 The age could be either 21 or 27.
# 82 The country is listed as Poland, and passenger #81 is listed as
Germany but looks like it could be the mother of these child.
# 83 The country is listed as Poland, and passenger #81 is listed as
Germany but looks like it could be the mother of these child.
# 94 The country of which this passenger was a citizen is unreadable
due to a large area that was damaged.
# 95 The country of which this passenger was a citizen is unreadable
due to a large area that was damaged.
# 96 The country of which this passenger was a citizen is unreadable
due to a large area that was damaged.
#108 First name could be an abbreviation for Leonhard or Lionhart
#142 The last letter in the first name could be an N, possibly an
abbreviation for Ellen.
#149 The data for this passenger has been crossed out, however it is
the same information that is listed for passenger #11.
#150 The second letter of the surname could be an E (it has a mark over
it), or it could be an I.
