If one person was a labourer for ex. it did not change until another occupation was listed. Ditto marks would remain the same sometimes for a whole page whether the person was an infant, child or female. At the bottom of the last page of my listing there was an anotation that there was a total of 472. Steerage passengers 464 - cabin passengers 7. Then on the right hand side it shows 25 with a line and then a number of 472 with anotation died 2 with another line 470. My listing shows an original total of 472 with 2 deaths. This means steerage passengers 464 - cabin passengers 7 is possibly in error since it only adds up to 471.
