SS Braunschweig
I, R Hoffman, Master of the SS Braunschweig, do solemly , sincerely, and truly declare that the Pssenger List or Manifest subscribed by me, and now delivered, by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board of the said vessel at Bremen from which port the vessel has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List of Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died.

Passengers # 33 is ERNST HEPP Age 17 and # 34 is sister PAULINE HEPP Age 20, both from Mullheim Province, Hugelheim (Hugelsheim), Baden Stadt Germany (Alsace region border France, Switzerland) I have a copy of the original microfiche manifest from Ancestry.com. Pauline is my great grandmother and Ernst, my grand uncle. I would love to find out more about why they would have left Germany then, what their address was in Hugelheim and who sponsored their voyage to NYC. Hepp in German is from a vineyard name for the cutter tool. Pauline Hepp married George Peters. They settled in Newark & Hillside New Jersey. They had two children Pauline Peters and Christian Peters, born Newark NJ. I have those details of birth and death. Ernest married in the US no children. Thank you. I just found your website.
