Correspondence 04/08/02 Passengers #55-58 Kingmann & #122-125 Klingemann
This family of Heinrich Phillip Klingemann, Sophia, Freidrich and
Louise from Hanover is my GG grand parents and g greatfather. Heinrich took
his family up the Mississippi River to Chester in southern Illinois and
settled near a small town called Bremen. He purchased 40 acres from the
state of Illinois and began farming. He died in 1845. His wife remarried
John Ziechner in 1846. Friedrich married Marie Runge and had a family of
Friedrich, died at 3 months, Mathilde, Sophia, Alexander, died age
18, and Henry, my grandfather. Daughter Louise married Heinrich Degener.
Henry married Alice Hornberger and had a son Harry and 3 daughters,
Lily, Wilma and Ruth. My Father, Harry married Gladys Gnaegy and had two
sons, Richard and Donald. Donald, thats' me, had 2 sons Dennis and Daniel.
The Klingemann name is pretty rare and I've had a hard time connecting
with any other extended family members. The family of John Klingemann
listed in this group of passengers was probably related but can't prove
it. Thanks for the chance to pass on some info.
Don Klingemann
