LECTURER As an added feature Dr. A. E. TOZZARD will deliver a series of illustrated lectures on the Mediterranean and Egypt, the dates of which will be announced.
LIGHTS are extinguished in the Saloon at 11 p. m., Lounge, Reading Room and Smoke Room at 11.30 p. m. eastbound (midnight westbound)
DIVINE service in the Saloon on Sunday at 11:00 a. m.
PORT TAXES: For the convenience of our passengers we have arranged for any port and /or landing taxes which might be in effect at any of the ports of call to be collected on board by the Purser.
SEATS AT TABLE: Passengers who have not previously arranged for seats at a table to be reserved should apply for same to the Second Steward. Children are not entitled to seats in the Dining Room unless full fare is paid.
THE BAR:Opens at 8 a. m. and closes at 11 p. m. eastbound (11.30 p. m. westbound)
SMOKING: Passengers are kindly requested not to smoke in the Dining Saloon.
DECK CHAIRS AND STEAMER RUGS: Can be hired at $2.00 each to Naples (first call), $3.00 to Alexandria, $4.00 to Naples (second call), or $5.00 for the entire Cruise.
DECK CHAIR CUSHIONS: A limited supply of cushions, with loose covers, for deck chairs is available for hire at the same rates as mentioned above for deck chairs and steamer rugs.
CHARGERS COLLECTED ON BOARD: Passengers are requested to ask for a Receipt on the Company's Form for any additional Passage Money, Chair or Steamer Rug Hire, or Freight paid on board.
MEDICAL ATTENDANCE. THE SURGEON IS AUTHORIZED TO MAKE CUSTOMARY CHARGES, SUBJECT IN EACH CASE TO THE APPROVAL OF THE COMMANDER, FOR TREATING PASSENGERS AT THEIR REQUEST FOR ANY ILLNESS NOT ORIGINATING ON THE VOYAGE. IN THE CASE OF SICKNESS DEVELOPED ON THE VOYAGE NO CHARGE WILL BE MADE, AND MEDICINE WILL BE PROVIDED FREE IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES.
EXCHANGE OF MONEY: The purser is prepared, for the convenience of passengers, to exchange a limited amount of English, French, Italian and American money, at rates which will be advised on application.
VALUABLES: The particular attention of passengers is drawn to the ticket conditions regarding the carriage and custody of articles specified in Section 428 of the revised Statutes of the United States, but passengers can, and are accordingly advised to, protect themselves by insurance. The Line has provided a safe in the office of the Purser in which passengers may deposit money, jewels, ornaments, documents or other valuables for safe keeping and a deposit receipt will be issued by the Purser.
UPPER BERTHS: Passengers occupying Upper Berths can obtain steps for getting in or out of same, onapplying to the Steward or Stewardess.
PORTHOLES: As it is dangerous for passengers to handle the Ports, they are requested to ask the Bedroom Steward to open and close the portholes in the staterooms as required.
LETTERS, CABLES AND WIRELESS TELEGRAMS: are received at the Enquiry Office for dispatch, and Postage Stamps can be purchased at this office, through which also all Mails will be distributed. Cablegrams and Telegrams should be handed in an hour before the arrival at any port of call. None of the ship's staff other than those on duty in the Enquiry Office is authorized to accept Letters or Telegrams for dispatch.
PASSENGERS SHOULD PERSONALLY ASCERTAIN: whether there is any mail for them before disembarking, and they are invited to leave their addresses at the Enquiry Office for later dispatches to be re-directed.
DECK GAMES AND AMUSEMENTS: Deck Quoits, Shuffleboard, Bull board and other games are provided on deck under the charge of a Quartermaster. Chess, Draughts, Dominoes, etc., can be obtained on application to the Lounge Steward.
MOTION PICTURES: will be shown from time to time, notice of which will be given by the Purser's office.
BOOTS AND SHOES: These will be cleaned if left outside the Stateroom door.
WINES, ETC: Passengers are requested to sign cards when ordering Wines and Spirits, etc., at table, and accounts for these are presented at the end of the voyage by the Table Steward or Bedroom Steward, to whom payment may be made.
COTS: The steamer is supplied with a limited number of small cots for the use of infants. Application for use of same should be made to the Chief Steward.
BARBER The Barber is authorized to make the following charges:-

		Shampooing				1  0 or 25 cents
		Singeing				1  0 or 25 cents
		Face Massage				2  0 or 50 cents
		Scalp Massage				1  6 or 40 cents
		Tonic Dressing				0  6 or 15 cents
The Barber's hours are 7 a. m. to 7 p. .m., but for the general convenience of the greater number, passengers are requested not to apply for hair-cutting or shampooing except between the hours of noon and 5.00 PM The Barber is allowed the privilege of selling various souvenirs and small articles on his own account.
PICTURE POSTCARDS Picture Postcards of the steamer can be obtained on Board gratis.
TRAVELERS CHECKS issued by the International Mercantile Marine Company, payable in all parts of Europe, can be purchased at all the principal offices of the White Star Line. Sufficient funds have been placed on board the Adriatic to cash these checks abut checks of other issues cannot be accepted on board except in payments of accounts.

SPECIAL NOTICE

The attention of the managers has been called to the fact that certain persons, believed to be professional gamblers, are in the habit of traveling to and fro in Adriatic steamships.
In bringing this to the knowledge of travelers, the managers, while not wishing in the slightest degree to interfere with the freedom of action of patrons of the White Star Line, desire to invite their assistance in discouraging games of change, as being likely to afford these individuals special opportunities for taking unfair advantage of others.
Passengers landing at MONACO or NAPLES or those going to CAIRO are cordially invited to make their Headquarters at our Local Offices there, where they may be assured of courteous treatment by out experienced staff. MAIL FORWARDING ARRANGEMENTS Passengers who are having their mail sent to our offices at CAIRO, NAPLES, or NICE and desire to have it forwarded to some subsequent address are invited to call at the Purser's Office for a forwarding card which should be filled up and returned to the Purser not later than the day before leaving the ship.
TURKISH AND ELECTRIC BATHS ON THE SS ADRIATIC THE TURKISH BATHS, which are located upon the main deck consist of the usual Steam, hot, temperate, and cooling rooms, shampooing rooms, massage couch and electric baths. A plunge bath is also provided in conjunction with same. Experienced attendants are in charge.
These Baths will be available for :-
		
	LADIES     from  10 am  to 1 pm  	 4/-$1.00
	GENTLEMEN  from   2 pm  to 7 pm	         4/-$1.00
	ELECTRIC BATHS (by appointment only)     4/-$1.00

PLUNGE BATHS The Plunge Bath will be open between the following Hours free of charge:
	      LADIES     from  10 am to 1 pm
	      GENTLEMEN  from   6 am to 9 am.  &   from 2 pm to 7 pm
GYMNASIUM ADJACENT to the Turkish and Electric Baths there is a Gymnasium which will be open (with a competent attendant in charge) for exercise by LADIES and Gentlemen, respectively, during the same hours as the Baths. No charge will be made for the use of the appliances.
CHILDREN The Gymnasium will be available for Children from 12 noon to 2 pm only. The Company accepts no responsibility whatsoever for any accident from whatever cause arising to any passenger using the Swimming Bath, Electric Baths, Turkish Baths or Gymnasium.

COMMANDER		Four rows of gold lace. Commanders, when Assistant Commanders are 
                        carried-In addition, a gold 5-pointed star over the front centre of 
                        upper row of lace.

CHIEF ENGINEER		Four rows of gold lace with purple velvet between.  Chief Engineers, 
                        when  Assistant Chief Engineers are carried-In addition, a gold 5 
                        pointed star over the front centre of the upper row of lace.

CHIEF OFFICER		Three rows of gold lace.

PURSER			Two rows of gold lace with white velvet between.

ASST. PURSER		One row of gold lace with white velvet below.

SURGEON			Two rows of gold lace with red velvet between.
						
CHIEF STEWARD		Two rows of gold lace, zig-zagged.

SECOND STEWARD		One row of gold lace, zig-zagged.
When Officers are in white uniforms, similar stripes of rank will be shown on the shoulder straps instead of on the sleeve of the coat.

If you find an ancestor on a ship on ISTG and would like to link to your email address or home page, please submit a short paragraph about the passenger, where settled, children, etc., with the name of the ship and date of arrival, and send to the transcriber at the bottom of the manifest or to the ISTG Production Coordinator. Be sure to include the name of the SHIP and VOLUME number.
