Ship Washington
There was no captain's sworn statement with this list. This was from an abstract for the 3rd quarter of 1852. The captain's surname was given as Wilkie.
List of Passengers arrived from Foreign Ports into the District of Mobile during the Quarter ending on the 30th June 1852.
Columns represent: name, age, sex, occupation, country to which they belong, country in which they intend to become inhabitants. The occupation for all was given as labourer. In the column for country to which they belong, was written Ireland. However, many of the names of these passengers seem German or French. They all intended to become inhabitants of the United States.

Correspondence 7/06/00 Passengers #26-29
I found what I believe to be my ancestors on this list:
Phillip, Catherine, John and Frank Tonick. We are 90% certain
they were from Germany, because my dad remembers German being
spoken by his grandmother, and a marriage license with Austria
listed as a place of birth of his grandmother. There are no
"Tonick's" on the 1860 or 1870 Texas Census Indexes. However,
the census trail picks up in 1900 in the Bastrop County, Texas
census, showing a John Tonick, born July 1885, age 19, born in
Texas, with father and mother from Germany. So, I believe
this "John" is very likely John Jr. and son of the "John" arriving
on the ship Washington. Anyway, this is the theory we are working
on at this point. I have yet to piece together the eventual migration
of the family to Texas, but it is "believed" that John eventually
settled in the Bastrop, Texas area by 1890. Mike Tonick
