2nd 1847 as the manifest shows Jany 2d.1847. with the 'd'small and raised behind the 2. * In the manifest statement the word (port) was inserted by the transciber. The right edge of the manifest was missing where it was presumed to have been. * United States was not written in full on the manifest, but shown only as U States * Wy??e could be Wynne. * ONeil and OConnell are written on the manifest with an apostrophe between the 'O' and the 'N'. * Be?s could be Befs or Bess. * Pu??s may be Purvs or Purves. * Edwd is probably an abbreviation for Edward.The 'd' is written small and high after the 'w'. * Cel?? may be Celny. The last letter is probably a 'y' and the fourth possibly an 'n'. * ??o??ley may be Thornley. The first two letters are only recognisable in part whilst the third and fourth are just a number of short upward strokes of the pen. * ?? in the age column could be 18. * S???s may be Snans. * Wy??e could be Wynne. * She? may be either Shea or Shen. * O?ey is probably Oney. * Margt is shown 4 times and is probably an abbreviation of Margaret. The 't' is shown small sitting high on the extended upward tail of the 'g' each time with a full stop (period) underneath.
