Transcriber's notes:
In the sworn statement, the name of the ship is misspelled in once instance
and it is transcribed as written and noted with an *.
I have eliminated the Death column to save space, even though there were two
deaths on this voyage. Passengers 176 and 177 died en route and the notes on
the deaths are on Page 1 of this ship's passenger list.
Cabin passengers were not numbered on the original manifest. For ease in
referring to trancriber's notes, I have numbered them here.
I think for privacy reasons, the adult Cabin passengers had no occupations
and no ages, with one exception, listed on the original manifest. I believe
the letters "ad", or "a" in the age column refer to the word "adult".
The following notes are listed by passenger number:
248 Chas. Baker - The occupation is transcribed as written and I believe is
a misspelling for builder.
256 271, 292, 294 Wm - The m in the first name is written as a superscript
and this combination usually stands for William.
269 ?ac Roffe - The first name is either Jac or Yac. The original recorder
wrote J's and Y's the same way.
295 Peter Paine - Due to dark marks on the film, I can't tell if his age has
a second number to it.
298 and 299 Br???n - It's impossible to distinguish one letter from another
but none of them fall below the line or rise high above the line.
312 through 314 Cape?e - The letter in question doesn't fall below the line or
rise high above the line. It looks like it could be an S.
315 Emilio Puccin??li - Neither letter falls below the line or rised high
above the line.
318 Ao?t? Menello - The last letter in the given name is written as a superscript
and is either A or E.
319 Philomena Piza??lo - This area of the film is very dark making it impossible
to recognize these letters.
321 through 324 - These names, I believe, are written as surname first, followed
by the given name.
342 through 347 Resc?? - Imperfections on the film make it impossible to
decipher these letters. The age for passenger 342 is also covered by these
dark marks.
352 A?ltje DeVries - This letter doesn't fall below the line or rise high above
the line and could possibly be an A.
357 infant DeVries - No name was given for this child and the age is only written
as 0 years with no writing in the column for months of age.
364 and 365 Busenh??? - None of the letters in question fall below the line
or rise high above the line. This area of the film is quite dark making
it hard to decipher some of the letters.
369 Ludw. Harn?shfe??er - The first letter in question is either E or I. Of the
last two letters in question, the first falls below the line and may be G.
370 Ma?c Ludwig - The letter in question doesn't fall below the line or rise
high above the line.
381 and 382 ?n?enett - I can't tell if the first letter is an A or an O.
The second letter in question falls below the line and is either G or J.
388 through 390 Ba?er - The name is either Baner or Bauer.
The age for passenger 389 is almost completely covered by a black area
on the page. The first number of the age is either 2 or 3.
411 Friedr. Kubler - There is an umlaut over the U in the surname.
412 Marg. Wafne? - This area of the film is very dark and I can't really tell
if there actually is a letter following the E.
413 Clara Tra??? - This area of the film is very dark making it impossible
to decipher the letters.
416 Ve??e Marie Blei - None of the letters in question fall below the line
or rise high above the line.
419 Nicolas O?tte - The name is either Obtte or Oltte.
422 and 423 - There is an umlaut over the O in the surname.
425 Math. Hippelding?? - The first letter in question is either A or E.
The second letter in question is either N or R.
431 Carl Ha?g - The name is either Hang or Haug.
432 Jos. Van der Camme? - The letter in question doesn't fall below the line
or rise high above the line and could be an R.
436 Anton Wiele - His age is either 26 or 36.
437 Mary Hem? - This area of the film is very dark making it impossible to
decipher some of the letters.
438 Wilh. Haeng? - The dark area of the film makes it impossible to decipher
the letter.
444 Marie Lachen - Nothing was written in the month of age column.
448 Georg Mannert - This notation is written alongside this passenger's name -
Born at sea during the voyage. There is only one other person with the
Mannert name - passenger 263.
465 ? Rus?mann - Only one letter was used for the first name and I'm not sure
what it is, but it could be an I. The letter in question in the last name
is partially covered by a black streak. The letter does rise high above
the line and could be T.
466 ?. C. ???e????it? - Much of this name is covered by black marks on the
film. The initial for the first name could be I. The first letter in the
surname is either P or R.
467 Friedr. Pre?? - The letters in question are completely covered by a black
mark on the film.
468 through 471 - These surnames are completely covered by a black mark on the film.
