There is no formal captain's statement associated with this list. However, there is a signature "Wm ?itts, Master" (probably Pitts) Read and Write was written in at the top of the Remarks column where yes and no have been entered. On some other manifests "Money" is also written at the top of this column. Missing or illegible letters are replaced with ?. 1&2 The number of pieces of baggage entry on the manifest signifies by brackets that the number entered includes both passengers. The number given has been assigned here to the first passenger listed.
