Brig Reaper


Acra, Africa to Edgartown, Massachusetts
19 March 1832

DISTRICT OF EDGARTOWN – PORT OF EDGARTOWN
I, Zebulon Woodbury do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear, that the within REPORT and LIST, subscribed with my name and now delivered by me to the Collector of the district of Edgartown, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, the names, age, sex and occupation of all the passengers, together with the name of the country to which they severally belong, and that of which they intend to become inhabitants, which were on board the Brig Reaper of Salem whereof I am at present master, at the time of her sailing from the port of Acra, Africa or which have at any time since been taken on board the said vessel. And I do likewise swear, that all matters whatsoever in said report and list expressed, are, to the best of my knowledge and belief, just and true. SO HELP ME GOD. (Signed) Zebulon Woodbury, MASTER. REPORT AND LIST of the Passengers taken on board the Brig Reaper of Salem whereof Zebulon Woodbury is Master, burden 229 tons and 15/95ths of a ton, bound from the Port of Acra, Africa for Salem.*

Transcriber's Notes:     
* The ship was apparently headed for Salem, Massachusetts originally. 
* #2 seems to be a hole in original, but second letter could be m, no others visible.
* #4-5 very badly damaged area.  Surname for #4 could begin with Fh or Thy; a hole 
  where the rest should be.
