SS State of Pennsylvania
I John Stewart, Master of the SS State of Pennsylvania do solemnly, sincerely, and truly believe that the lollowing List or Manifest, subscribed by me and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York is a full and perfect List of all the Passengers taken on board of the said Steamer at Glasgow ? from which port said steamer has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each said passengers, the port of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country each belongs and also the Country of which is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said list or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the ages of those who died. List or Manifest of all the Passengers taken on board the SS State of Pennsylvania, whereof John Stewart is Master, from Glasgow via Larue burthen 1592 tons
Columns represent: Name, Age, Sex, Occupation, Country to which they severally belong, Country of which they intend to become inhabitants, died on the voyage, accomodation.
There were no deaths therefore that column was eliminated. It appears that two different people wrote the original manifest.

Fer???on is on a fold in original manifest and appears to be Thomas Ferguson; 11 & 12 The next two names are Elizabeth and Thos. John and the surnames would be Ferguson because ditto marks are used for the surname of Thomas Ferguson. 18 West?ater could be an m, n or u. 23 Glo?? Kl?rsise could be Glorry or Gloury; written at another time above this name is comf 7-18-08 CD of Justices Rices/York or Rittes/York; written at another time above age 22, 17 is written; Canada (Out) is written on manifest.
