Transcriber's Notes:
* The preceding 250 passengers were all steerage passengers, but nevertheless
the recorder did indicate, perhaps mistakenly, citizenship, under "Country
of which they are citizens" for nos. 28-38. Since in all cases they were
exactly the same as in the column "Native country", I have omitted that
column.
* I have also omitted the "Port of Embarkation" column, since all embarked
from Liverpool,
* The "Date and Cause of Death" column, since it only contained a running
tally of the passengers according to whether they were male, female, or
U.S. citizens.
* The column for "Transient, in Transit, or intending protracted sojurn" has
also been omitted, since in all cases the passengers were intending a
"Pro Soj"(Protracted Sojurn).
* An * asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original recorder, not
the transcriber.
* The ? indicates letters or words that cannot be read due to the quality of
the original document.
Passenger Notes:
14 Name of destination could be Nantucke or Nauti?ke.
16 First name looks like Crussrod.
18 Destination is probably misspelled; most likely Poughkeepsie (N.Y.).
21 Last name could be Hunings.
22 First letter of last name could be S or L; not sure if it is followed by
one or two letters, but something extends above the line like an l, with
slight hook at the top leaning to the right suggesting a capital C:
S?irron; L?irron.
25 Last name could be Sins.
33 Last name could be Franks or Franko.
37 Third letter of last name may be m or n; there may be 4th and 5th
letters. Difficult to tell, but between the a and the d, nothing extends
above the line. Could be Sanderson, but there seem to be more than one
letter between the a and the d.
47 Destination could be misspelling for Columbus (Ohio).
48 Destintion could be Winnamusa or Winnannassa.
57 First name may be Mas.
63 First name could be Moira or Maria.
67 First name could be Honoria.
70 Second letter of last name could be a or e; 4th letter could be e or
o: Wessler, Wassler, Wesslor, Wesslor.
71 Last name could be Kearns or Hearns; occupation, Screwmaker or Sawmaker.
73 Last name totally blurred and illegible; occupation could be "Fireman".
78 Middle initial could be D or G.
95 Destination might be Emporia, city in New York, but there is definitely
a K on the end, and possibly an e after the K (but it may be just a
flourish on the K).
100 Occupation may be an error, as it was most unusual for a woman to
have any occupation at all, much less to be a machinist.
107 Occupation looks like cutur, or cutler(but the l is uncertain; it looks
more like the left part of a u, and is shorter than the preceding t.
121 Last name could be Estraw, Estrow, Estrom, or Estram.
138 Middle initial may be O.
150 Middle name could be Anton, but the t is not crossed; or Aulon.
159 Second letter of surname could be an uncrossed t, an h, or an l;
Strynke; Slrynke; Shynske.
166 Not sure if age is 22 or 32.
170 Age may be 20, but badly blurred.
187-88 Not sure if age is 5 or 15.
189 Not sure if there are 4 or 5 letters after the l in last name; none
extend above or below the line.
195-96 First names appear to be the same, but middle letters are unreadable,
and cannot be sure how many there are. None extend above or below the
line.
199 First name could be Ascel or Axel.
201 First name could be Eunissa; not sure how many letters between the E and
the final a, but none extend above or below the line. Last name could
be Halen or Hulen.
209 First name could be Eusni.
210 Last 4 or 5 letters of surname illegible, but none extend above or below
the line; last 3 letters may be ne or ine; 4th may be o or u: Bedoine.
211 First name could be Ascel, Asul, or Axel.
218 Letters after "Middle..." in destination could be holun or hodun.
228 Second and third letters of last name could be au or on: Rauberg,
Ronberg.
233 First name could be Emil.
239 "Matron" must be an error; probably should be "child".
245 Third, fourth, and possibly a 5th letter of last name blurred or erased.
