I, Jermis Niles Master of the S.S. "Hindoo" do solemnly, sincerely, and truly * that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect List of all the passengers taken on board the said S.S. "Hindoo" at Hull & Southampton from which Port said STM* has now arrived; and that on the said List is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of the said Passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said Passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages, of those who have died. Columns represent: Name, Age in years or Months, Sex, Occupation, the country to which each belongs, the country to which they intend to become inhabitants, Died on the Voyage, and the Part of the Vessel occupied by each during the voyage.

 * word "swear" or "affirm" is missing
 * Possibly abbrivation for Steamer.
 * Passengers 6 to 21 were entered by a different person.
 * Passenger numbers were added for clairity.
 * "Died on Voyage" column notation "Nil None"
 * "Part of vessel occupied" had the following vertically listed
   for all passengers "1st and 2nd Saloon"
 * Passengers 2-6, Occupation column has a line in it.
 * Passenger 3, Illegible title/given name. Could be Mrs.
 * Passenger 4-5, No given name/surname.  Children of Passenger 3.
 * Passenger 7, Illegible Letter could be a double l or u.
 * Passenger 9, Age is either 36 or 46.
 * Passenger 11, Surname could be Marsdeu
 * Passenger 14, Has horizontal line through name.
 * Passenger 17, Given name could be George.
