* Transcriber's Notes:
Passenger 35: This man's name is written as "Boosteau", but comparison to
telephone listings yields no matches of the name. The "teau"
ending indicates a French name and the French telephone
directory contains many "Busteau" entries. So, this is a
likely phonetic mis-spelling by the recorder and John
Boosteau is more likely Jean Busteau.
Passenger 50: Because of the ambiguity of the recorder's handwriting, the
lowercase letters I, e, r and n appear very similar and also
a, o and u are very similar. The most likely interpretation
of the last name of this person is Merton.
Passenger 52: The first name, "Margt", appears to be an abbreviation of
"Margaret".
Passenger 78: The first name, "Elizth", appears to be an abbreviation of
"Elizabeth".
Passenger 80: The first name, "Robt", is a common abbreviation of "Robert".
Passenger 88: The first name, "Thos", is a common abbreviation of "Thomas".
Passenger 89: The first name, "Cathe", appears to be an abbreviation of
"Catherine".
Passenger 92: The first name, "Wm", is a common abbreviation of "William".
Passenger 94: Grace Walter, apparently female, is listed as male by means
of ditto marks in the column for sex - since the previous
passenger is actually male and her occupation is listed as
"Laborer" also by the use of ditto marks. This seems to be
a clerical error. For every other female passenger, the
recorder has drawn a line through the occupation column
as if to say "not applicable" while there is a worded entry
in the occupation column for every male - including infants
and children which have the word "none" entered in this
column.
Passenger 103: The first name, "Benjn", appears to be an abbreviation of
"Benjamin".
Passenger 109: Anna Dyson also has her name written in the extreme right
hand column as Ann Dyson. But rather than being just a
correction of her first name, it appears to indicate that
she is the only passenger who died because this column's
heading is "Died on the Voyage".
Passenger 113: The first name, "Robt", is a common abbreviation of "Robert".
Passenger 121: The last name, "McHear" has an ambiguous last letter, but is
most likely an "r" because of the similarity to other
occurances of the letter "r" in this document.
