I John McDonough do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest of Passengers, subscribed with my name and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs for the District of New York, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, ajust and true account of all the Passengers received on board the Brig Hibernia from Galway whereof I am Master, from Galway So help me God Sworn to this 19 June 1837 Before me ~~~~~~

He moved to Allen County, Indiana, married Mary Weeks on December 9, 1841. They had three children: Martin, Bridget and Martha. During this time he bought a farm in Nobel County, Green Township. Mary died and Peter married Elizabeth Harter (b 1832) in about 1848. They had nine children: Catherine, Patrick (Mike Monroe's gr. grandfather), John, Peter, Ellen, Mary May, Margaret, Nora and Anna.
