LIST OR MANIFEST OF ALIEN IMMIGRANTS FOR THE COMMISSIONER OF IMMIGRATION.
Required by the regulations of the Secretary of the Treasury of the United States, under Act of Congress, approved March 3, 1893, to be delivered to the Commissioner of Immigration by the Commanding Officer of any vessel having such passengers on board upon arrival at a port in the United States.
Steamship Gaelic, sailing from Yokohama, July 29th, 1893 arriving at Port of San Francisco, Aug 15, 1893.

There is no captain's statement nor captain's name attached to this manifest.
The following columns had identical entries for all passengers and so were 
not included in the table:
   1-Able to Read & Write=yes
   2-Seaport for Landing in the US=San Francisco
   3-By whom was passage paid?=himself
   4-Whether going to join Relative or Friend=No
   5-Whether ever in Prison, Almshouse or supported by Charity=no
   6-Whether a Polygamist=no
   7-Whether under contract to labor in the US=no
   8-Condition of Health Mental and Physical=good
   9-Whether having any deformities=no 
* Letters that are illegible or difficult to interpret are replaced by ?.
* 3  occupation is listed as wife to Moses Cotz.
* 4 & 5 occupation is listed as children of Mr and Mrs Moses Cotz.
* 6  There are cities called Kanagaza and Kakogawa in Japan.  This word is 
  clearly Kanagawa.
* 11 has been to San Francisco 1890, 1891, 1892 521 1/4 G?y St.  His money 
  could be 100.
* 16 It is not clear whether this surname is Osugawara or the "O" is an initial.  
  He was resident in California 8 years.


This ship has separate pages of Chinese passengers but due to the quality
of the microfilm they are unable to be transcribed.
