SS Fresia
I, Joachim Meyer, Master of the German S.S. Fresia do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board of the said German .S. Fresia at Hamburg and Havre from which port said S.S. Fresia has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died. * 9 - Surname looks look Mornam or Momam
* 10 - Umlaut over "u" in Muller
* 13 - First letter of occupation looks like "M" or "W"
* 17 - Surname looks like Pachnilhe
* 19 - Umlaut over "u" in Gunther
* 21 - Surname might be Talbot
* 21 thru 23 - These lines were crossed out on the manifest and much of the
information is unreadable as indicated by "?". There does not appear to
have been a given name written on lines 22 and 23, but a ditto mark
indicates the surname was the same as line 21.
* 24 - On the original manifest, the writer ignored the original lines 21
through 23 which were crossed out and began again here at 21. For ease
in referencing footnotes, I have continued numbering at 24.
* 24 thru 31 - Writing is very faint and much of it is unreadable as
indicated by "?".
* 32 - On the original manifest, cabin passengers are numbered 1 through 16.
For ease in referencing footnotes, I have continued numbering with 32.
* 34 - Surname looks like Ehrsain
* 41 - Missing letters in given name resemble "R" and "g".
* 43 - Surname looks like Laudweather or Laudreather
* 44 and 45 - Surname might be Kallenbach
