Transcriber's Notes:

*Title line is written in German with the date added above the name of
the ship by another hand.

*Passenger #13, the first name appears not to have a capital letter,
just a small letter "g" for first name.

*After Passenger 28 is the end of page 1. At this point the list is
totalled, then the total is brought forward to page 2 before the list
continues.

*#30, first letter is F, J or I.

*The Recapitulation is written in German.

*After the line Bremen den 20h Jule 1833 is what looks like the
signature of the person who wrote the list, which was then crossed out
with a thick-nibbed pen. The name looks like ?.D.H. Watsen, V. Cox

*Jess Hunt Mayor may be Jess Hunt, Mayor (of Baltimore?)

Correspondence -1/16/02 passenger #16 Schmidt
Am descendent of Adam Schmidt who arrived in Baltimore, Maryland
September 16, 1833, departing Bremen, Germany on the Charles Ferdinand.

Adam and family settled in Ripley County, Indiana. He and wife
Florentina Buttelberger (aka Florinita Bathenharer) raised 9 children.
They changed the name to Smith soon after arrival. Both are buried
at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Stumpke's Corner, Ripley County.
Interestingly, their names on the markers show Schmidt!
