SS Bolivia
I, James Donaldson, Master of the SS Bolivia do solemnly, sincerely, and truly declare that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of the City of New York is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board said vessel at Glasgow and Moville from which port said vessel has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the calling of each of said passengers, the location of the compartment of space occupied by each during the passage, the country or citizenship of each and also the destination or location intended by each, and that said List of Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the dates and causes of death, and the names and ages of those who died; also of the pieces of baggage of each; also a true statement, so far as it can be ascertained, with reference to the intention of each alien passenger as to a protracted sojourn in this country, So help me God. Correspondence added December 29, 2006, Passenger 1001, Fowlds This is Robina Boyd Fowlds born 14 July 1870 Kilmarnock her Parents being William Fowlds and Mary McNab. She married Irving R Putman 15 Nov 1887 in Johnstown, Fulton County, New York and died 04 June 1926 in Johnstown, Fulton County, New York. She had 11 children and was survived by 10 of them. Family legend was that she had actually stowed away on that particular ship but from your transcription it seems that was not so. She had travelled over to join her brother, Alexander Fowlds, and her sister, Susan Park Fowlds, who had arrived on 31 May 1882 on the Anchoria and had settled in Johnstown & Gloversville, Fulton County, New York. Many of their descendents still live around that area. Robina Boyd Fowlds is also my mothers maiden name and the above Robina was her Aunt. Sincerely, William Fowlds Wood
