Isaac Thacher. (Signed) Jesse Hunt, Mayor. (Signed) Isaac Thacher. Transcriber's Note: Have located a passenger on another ship who had the same name as this ship. As it is such an unusual name, the possibility exists that the ship was named after this person, who seems to be a woman. She was on the passenger list for the Ship Gustav from Bremen, which arrived at Baltimore 19 October 1836, with what appears to be her family. The names of this group: C. A. Heineken 36, a merchant, Averick Heineken 25, and 2 children John Heineken 4 and Gustav Heineken 2. (Perhaps young Gustav was on a ship named after himself!) Their town of origin was listed as Baltimore, though they must have been German or Dutch. C. A. Heineken was perhaps a ship owner who named one of his ships after his young wife. The list for the Gustav has been transcribed and will be found on this site as well. If anyone has any information on this group, please contact the transcriber so it can be added to the footnote.
