LIST OR MANIFEST OF ALIEN IMMIGRANTS FOR THE
COMMISSIONER OF IMMIGRATION
Required by the regulations of the Secretary of the Treasury of the United States, under Act of Congress, approved March 3, 1893, to be delivered to the Commissioner of Immigration by the Commanding Officer of any vessel having such passengers on board upon arrival at a port in the United States.
SS Australia, sailing from Honolulu, Oct 11th, 1893, arriving at port of San Francisco, Oct 18th, 1893.

13) By whom was passage paid?;
14) Whether in possession of $30 or upward, and if less, how much?;
15) Whether ever before in the United States, and if so, when and where?;
16) Whether going to join a relative: and if so, what relative, their name and address;
17) Ever in Prison or Almshouse, or Supported by Charity? If yes, state which;
18) Whether a Polygamist?;
19) Whether under Contract, Express or Implied to Labor in the United States?;
20) Condition of Health, Mental and Physical;
21) Deformed or Crippled, Nature and Cause.

Transcriber's Notes:
* At the beginning of this "Manifest" "9409 1/2" is written in no reference to what
this number means, possibly "tonage" of vessel.
* Passenger 1, no entries in columns, 6, 7, 10, 12, and 14. She also states "No" in
column 20.
* Passenger 1 states her "Nationality" as "Newfoundland".
* Passenger 2 first letter of "Given Name" is mssing due to condition of Manifest.
* Passenger 4 first letter of "Given Name" is mssing due to condition of Manifest.
* Passenger 5 in column 14, states having 3L, with the "L" being in "cursive" meaning
3 pounds, English currency.
* Passenger 7 first letters of "Given Name" is mssing due to condition of Manifest,
possibly "James".
* Passenger 8 first letter of "Given Name" is mssing due to condition of Manifest.
* Passenger 11 first letter of "Given Name" is mssing due to condition of Manifest,
possibly "John".
* Passenger 13 first name of "Given Name" is mssing due to condition of Manifest.
* Line between Passengers 11 and 12 is written: "505, 10-22-40, L.A., Latz, 23-19835"
No mention of what this is in reference to.
* Passenger 14 first name of "Given Name" is mssing due to condition of Manifest.
In column 15 he states "Cala", possibly meaning California.
* Passenger 15 first letter of "Given Name" is mssing due to condition of Manifest,
possibly "Daniel".
* Passenger 16, has "As Above" in column 21, referring to line above stating "Not
crippled Not deformed".
* Passenger 17, 18 and 20 the first letters of "Given Names" are mssing due to
condition of Manifest.
* Passengers 19 and 20 the word "Twins" is written across the lines, following the
"Surname".
* Passenger 21 first letter of "Given Name" is mssing due to condition of Manifest.
* Passengers17 through 21, no columns are filled in after the "Age", except for
passengers 17 and 18, where column 4 is stated.
* Passenger 23 states "D.O." in column 11, referring the San Francisco, in the line above.
* Passenger 24 first letter of "Given Name" is mssing due to condition of Manifest,
possibly "Augustus".
* Passenger 24 does not have any information in columns 3, 4, 7, 11 and 13.
* Passenger 26, has no columns entered after column 10.
* Passenger 30, no columns entered after column 3.
* Given names of Passengers 31 and 32 are only initials.
* Passenger 32 states his "Race" as England.
* Passengers 33 and 34, the manifest is missing the first letters of the "Given
Name".
* Passenger 33 "Given Name" could possibly be "Daniel".
* Passenger 34, "Given Name" could possibly be "Jose".
* Passenger 33, column 9, "Hawaiian Islands" are abbreviated as "Hais".
* Passenger 34 "Given Name" could possibly be "Jose".
* No Captains signature on this "Manifest".
