Edited by William Henry Egle, M. D. Harrisburg: Edwin K. Meyers State Printer, 1892 Correspondence 6/12/00 Thank you so much for this site. I was able to locate, signer Christopher Kirchhofe, (Kirchoff) who sailed with his family of five from Rotterdam. Sandra Ritenour Correspondence 08/02/01 I am Web Host for the Ellis Keener Connections, URL is listed below. We know that Adam Kiener (12), Hans Kiener (13) and Ulrich Kiener(?) were all passengers on the Goodwill along with 6 other members in their party. There was no William Kiener listed as a passenger. I believe that Wm Kiener (#29) should actually be Ulrich Kiener. I have seen the name written in many wills and deeds from some of the other Ulrichs in this hugh family and the "Ul" could easily be misread as W and their scolled "rich" as an m. May we from his family ask that this be re-evaluated because it is causing some of the 100 or more Keener Researcher to refer to him as William Ulrich. No where else is there anything to suggest that his name might have been William. Lynda Ellis Gibbs Ellis Keener Connections Correspondence 08/03/01 passengers #39,40 & 48 GASS I am writing to identify and claim 3 passengers on the ship James Goodwill 9-30-1727. Jacob Gass, Sr. b. 12-15-1667 in Rithenfluh Switzerland; son of Heinrich and Anna M. Gass. Jacob married to Anna Wyss in 1692 in Switzerland. They had a total of 6 children; Heinrich, Jacob, Martin, Frederick, Jakob and Maria. Only two of those children made the trip to America with them. Jacob Gass Jr. b. 12-7-1704 married unknown Frederich Gass b. 4-9-1701 married unknown. These dates and the fact of immigration is found in the church records of Rithenfluh. It is believed that the total number of 6 in this party are the men and their wives. Jacob Gass Sr. took the oath in Philadelphia as did the other two men. The families migrated to York county PA and in 1740 to Rowan county NC. At least Frederick did as I have lost trace of Jacob Jr. Frederick appears in the courts in Rowan county in 1766. The elder Jacob Gass Sr is thought to have died in PA as there has never been anything found in Rowan county, NC. Frederick born in 1701 had 4 known children: Frederick I born in 1720; Ephraim b. 1740-1747; Joseph born 1740-1747; Catherina b. unk d. 2-13-1789. She married a Von Huffen. Frederick's children resided in Rowan county NC, by 1810 most of his descendants had migrated to Washington county IN. Debbie Jennings
