Transcriber's Notes: *9th gr. grandfather of transcriber's husband Robert Lovell - born 1595 Weymouth, Dorset, England died 25 July 1672 Weymouth, Norfolk, Massachusetts Wife: Elizabeth (possibly) Silvester - born 1601 England died 21 Jan 1657 Weymouth, Norfolk, Massachusetts known one daughter Ellinor or Ellen - born 1628/1633 Weymouth, Dorset, England died 20 July 1683 Hingham, Ply. MA married Andrew Ford 1650 Weymouth, Norfolk, MA birth about 1620 died 4 Mar 1693 Hingham, MA Born in England. Exact date of his arrival in America is not known. He stated in 1673 that he was one of the original inhabitants and purchasers of Weymouth, MA. But he was not included in the first land division, 1636, but he did appear in one made in 1642/44. Hence, it seems likely that he came during the great migration of 1638-39 or perhaps a year or two earlier. He owned much land and was a partner with his brother-in-law, James Lovell. His will was probated in Boston 23 Mar 1692/3. Correspondence 10/27/01 passenger Holland/Hollard The Passenger listed in the "Unspecified Ship", Angel Hollard, is an ancester of mine (my 9th ggrandfather). His wife's name was Katherine (or Catherine) Richard. Angell was a shoemaker and a freemason. At the time of embarkation on the ship in Weymouth, England, where they resided, Angel was 21 and his wife was 22. They first settled in Weymouth, Massachusetts, then removed to Boston. The name is sometimes misspelled as Holland or Pollard (LDS-FHC). He was considered a prominant citizen in Boston. This information was obtained from "THE PIONEERS OF MASSACHUSETTS". Family records from the LDS suggest that the couple were married in 1634, in Beaminster, Dorset, England (LDS). Daphne Kilbourn-Jacob Correspondence 10/02/02 passenger Ford (servant of Kingman) 01. Jonathan Davidson Correspondence 01/05/03 passengers Allen My ancestor, George ALLEN and his family came to America on this ship (which could be the MARY GOULD) in 1635. The ship left Weymouth, England March 20, 1636 to mostly likely Boston. The manifest list my ancestor, George Allen; Katherine, his wife; three sons, and a servant. Please contact me if you have information about this family. William Allen Farmington, NY
This list has at least some of the same immigrants reported to be on the Mary Gould on March 20, 1635. There is also another list of Hull Company immigrants at The Rev. Hull Company The sources I have state unspecified name of ship but the Mary Gould/Gold did make some sailings in 1635. As noted on the correspondence above under "servant of Kingman - Ford" - the source - Descendants of Andrew Ford of Weymouth, Massachusetts Part 1; the First Six Generations: Complied by Elizabeth Cobb Stewart, Published by Capitol City, Press Montpelier, Vermont, 1968. Page 1. Reference Andrew Ford 1620-1693 - states this ship is The Blessing of Ipswich England. On some of the sources I have found with the Mary Gold, it lists some of the same passengers but not all. Since we are dealing with a combination of sources and not an actual "passenger list" we have to consider all possibilities. The last email I received was on HOLBROOK. They are listed on both 1635 Mary Gold, 1636 Unspecified and the list of the Hull Company 1635. I would doubt the whole family would travel from England in 1635, return to England and then return to MA in 1636. So I think the dates are the result of the year change in history. Anyway, my assumption would be that the "Unspecified of 1636" is the Mary Gould/Gold of 1635 and just another source of information.
