Transcriber's Notes:

*  An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original recorder, not the transcriber,
or is used to call attention to additional information in the passenger notes.
?  Indicates a letter or number which could not be determined due to the condition of the
manifest or handwriting of the original recorder.
^  Indicates letters are omitted and the following letter is superscripted.

All occupations were listed as "farmer" except for passenger number 87 (see passenger notes);
hence, that column and the columns for origin and destination have been omitted in this list
because all were listed as from Germany and a destination of the United States.

The captain's surname appears as Dorbecker and as Dorrbecker.  Dorrbecker seems to be the
correct form because that is what is found as his signature.

The writer of this list lists the full name of the head of household (or family group) and then
those following are listed only by their given names.  He also anglicizes names, i.e. Ernest
instead of Ernst; John instead of Johann; Elizabeth instead of Elisabeth and does not end names
in ...mann but drops an "n." This may explain the varied spelling of the captain's name in the
sworn statement.  He also always writes Maria instead of Marie for the women. In German it would
be pronunced almost the same.

7       Name perhaps Johann Neumüller (Neumuller).
8-11    Perhaps surname should be Landhoff.
12       Surname probably Baumann.
13       Name more likely Hanna or Johanna Fleischemann.
16       Given name probably Elisabeth.
18,20,23 Maria should probably be Marie.
22       Name probably Johann Joseph Warner.
37       Maria should probably be Marie.
42       Surname may be Schwert or Schwarz.
44       Given name more likely Elisabeth.
47       Given name probably Ernst.
49-50    Surname probably Bergmann and no. 50--given name Johann.
54       Surname may be Konigsheim (Königsheim).
55       Surname likely Guthmann.
56       Maria should probably be Marie.
57-62    Passenger number 56 should probably be Johann and the surname more likely Daniels.
63       Surname seems to be either Mesman (Messman) or Stresman (Stresmann).
64       Johan should probably be Johann; gender probably incorrect.
65 & 67  Names should probably be Sophie and Marie.
71       Given name probably be Eduard.
70/72    Name probably Reedmann.
73       Name probably Marie.
74       Given name probably Johann.
76       Surname probably Junkemann.
77       Should name be Krahe?
78       Given name probably something like Henrich or Heinrich.
81       Given name probably Marie.
84       Given name probably Johann.
85       Given name probably Elise.  Surname either Odal or Idal.
87       Entry in occupation column seems to be: spinster.
91       Given name probably Marie.
94       Given name probably Johannes.
