Transcriber's Notes: * An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original recorder, not the transcriber, or is used to call your attention to additional information in the transcriber's notes. ? Indicates a letter or number which could not be determined due to the condition of the manifest or handwriting of the original recorder. ^ A ^ followed by a letter indicates that the letter was superscripted. * Passenger numbers assigned by transcriber for ease of reference. * All passengers were from Germany and intended to reside in the United States. * This manifest consisted of 4 pages. Pages 1 and 2 were prepared by a clerk, probably at the port of debarkation. Pages 3 and 4 were prepared by a different clerk, maybe at the port of arrival or on board ship. The passengers listed in pages 3 and 4 are not numbered, and are in (what seems) to be a random order. Furthermore, there is information about the passengers in pages 3 and 4 not seen in pages 1 amnd 2 and vice versa. Therefore, it was decided to try to combine the information from pages 3 and 4 with pages 1 and 2. The names are somewhat different in many cases, sometimes just the spelling, but often completely different, and I tried to match the passengers as best I could. Still there were a few that were not seen on both sets. In the case of Pages 1 and 2 this is likely due to the fact that there were a few where the information was hidden by taped areas. * Arrival date claimed by Ancesty.com is October 18, 1837. 2 and 3 bracketed. 4 and 5 bracketed 5 and 7 bracketed 8 and 9 bracketed 10 and 11 bracketed 19 and 20 bracketed 22 to 24 bracketed 25 to 29 bracketed 30 to 32 bracketed 36 Black line from crease caused guven name o be unreadable. 42 to 44 bracketed 45 to 50 bracketed 56 to 60 bracketed 64 to 66 bracketed 70 to 73 bracketed 74, 75 blacked our area prevented some information from being seen 79 to 82 bracketed 83 and 84 brcketed 85 and 86 bracketed 87 to 91 bracketed 93 Large "X" had been written after the surname. 95 to 102 bracketed 103 to 105 blacked our area prevented some information from being seen 106 to 110 bracketed 111 and 112 bracketed 113 to 119 bracketed 120 to 122 bracketed 123 to 126 bracketed 129 to 131 bracketed
