Transcriber's Notes:
A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that can not be transcribed
with certainty.
An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the
manifest or something in the Transcriber's Notes to which the reader should refer.
A caret (^) indicates that the following letter in a word or name is superscripted.
The transcriber numbers the passengers consecutively, even though they are not
numbered in the original manifest.
15 Surname is possibly though not certainly "Paref".
33 This passenger is Thaddius Amat y Brusi, C.M., a Roman Catholic cleric who
became Bishop of Los Angeles. He was born in 1810 in Barcelona, Spain, and
died in Los Angeles in 1878.
34-35 Surname appears to be either "de Urgacola" or "de Urquiola".
53-58 Surname appears to be written as "Cannell", but might possibly be "Connell".
66 Surname is written as "McMahan", but might possibly be "McMahon".
85 First letters of surname are overwritten and cannot be deciphered. Surname is
possibly "Althaus".
