Transcriber's Notes: * An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original recorder, not the transcriber, or is used to call your attention to additional information in the transcriber's notes. ? Indicates a letter or number which could not be determined due to the condition of the manifest or handwriting of the original recorder. ^ A ^ followed by a letter indicates that the letter was superscripted. * Names were transcribed as seen regardless of spelling. * Passengers were numbered by the transcribers for ease of referencing. * All coloumn headers on the manifest are in German. They where translated by the transcriber. * The number of passengers on the manifest differs to the number of passengers in the Souvenir Passenger booklet. The manifest is from the Hamburg departure lists and won't show any passengers who boarded the ship on the way. * l stands for single (ledig), v for married (verheiratet). * This transcription was taken from the Hamburg departure lists. It only shows the passengers boarding the ship in Hamburg. The transcription in Volume 6 shows passengers that boarded the ship along the way to Cameroon.
