I, Franklin Putnam, do solemnly, sincerely and truly swear that the following List or Manifest of Passengers, subscribed with my name and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs for the District of New York, contains to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the Passengers received on board the Ship Xylon, whereof I am Master, from Havre. So help me God. (signed) Franklin Putnam
Sworn to this 17th June 1837, before me (signature illegible).
Report and List of the Passengers taken on board the Ship Xylon of Newbury Port, whereof Franklin Putnam is Master, burthen Four Hundred Ninety Eight tons and 59/95 of a ton, bound from the port of Havre for New York.
Columns represent: passenger name, age, and sex. No occupations were listed; passengers 6 through 45 seem to be from France, with the remaining passengers from Baden. All passengers listed America as their destination; that column is omitted. There was one death and one birth on this voyage.

Footnote from a descendant of passengers 25 through 35:
I am interested in learning when this ship set sail from Havre? The Mougey family, my great-
great-grandparents from Crosey-le-Grand, Department of Doubs, France are included in this
ship list. Family records indicate they stayed in NY for a short time after arrival and by
1840 were in Stark County, Ohio. My branch later immigrated to Indiana, California and
North Dakota. I would be interested in hearing from anyone else researching the Mougey
family line. There are many questions as to some of the relationships of passengers on this
ship list.

The correct SURNAME of passengers 19 through 24 is SAINT-VOIRIN.
Amable, Julia, and Emilie are my great-grand aunts. Their parents and another sister also traveled
to America during the same timeframe, but they aren’t “listed” on this ship’s manifest. Their names
were Joseph (who would have been about the age of Claude), Jane B. (who would have been about the
age of Jean Baptist), and Mary “Adaline” Saint-Voirin (who would have been about the age of Adam).
Records indicate this family migrated to Bolivar, Tuscarawas, Ohio (by 1841), Massillon, Stark,
Ohio (by 1844), Lawrence, Tuscarawas, Ohio (1850),and they settled in Madison, Scioto, Ohio shortly
thereafter.
Sometime around 1860, the Joseph Saint-Voirin family name (aka St. Voirin, Voirin) changed to WARREN.
Based on other family records, the Saint-Voirin’s were probably traveling with the Lab and Mougey
families who were also listed on the Ship Xylon list.
I am interested in contacting anyone researching the Saint-Voirin (Warren), Lab or Mougey families
that came from France and settled in Ohio.
