DISTRICT OF NEW YORK - PORT OF NEW YORK
I, James Craig do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed with my name and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs for the District of New York, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the Passengers received on board the United Kingdom, of which I am Master, from Glasgow. So help me God, (Signed) James Craig

were no deaths on this passage.

A question mark (?) is used for letter/letters that could not be read.  Where possible, an
explanation is given in the Transcriber's Notes.


7, 8  Occupation:  Could it be Mariner?  All of the missing letters seem to be on the line,
      neither going above nor below it.  It looks like a wavy scrawl.
