Ship Plato


Hamburg via Cuxhaven, Germany to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
8 July 1836
This was a two page manifest with no printed introductory paragraphs. The first page was for passengers boarded at Cuxhaven, Germany and is in a very unusual format. The second page is for passengers that boarded at Hamburg, and the format is typical. Heading for the first page reads: Copy of the List of Steerage passengers on board the Ship Plato from Cuxhaven.
Page 1 Columns represent: passenger number*, names, occupations, male, female, children: 8 to 12, 4 to 8, 1 to 4, under 1, total number of children, country from which they came, age of males, age of females.
