Transcriber's Notes:
* An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original recorder, not the transcriber,
or is used to call attention to additional information in the passenger notes.
? Indicates a letter or number which could not be determined due to the condition of the
manifest or handwriting of the original recorder.
^ Indicates letters are omitted and the following letter is superscripted.
The writer of this list has anglicized German names. There is no John, Charles, Henry, Mary,
William, or Lewis in German names: most likely the names ought to have been recorded as Johann
(or Jan), Karl (Carl), Heinrich, Marie/Maria, Wilhelm or Ludwig/Louis.
The information about the baggage seems to have been written in by someone else and may or may
not indicate people who are travelling together. I've generally listed the information with
the first person covered by the brackets in the original list. The baggage may simply be the
number of trunks, etc. for that group stored in the same location.
9-12 Surname may be Buscher.
13 Moller (Möller) has an umlauted o so may also be Moeller.
18-19 Most of the information obliterated by damage to original. No. 18 probably a male
because there seems to be an occupation entered in that column. Surname for No. 19
is the same as No. 18 but ditto marks were used, so impossible to determine.
23 Burk (Bürk) has an umlauted u so may also be Buerk.
28 Muller (Müller) has an umlauted u so may also be Mueller.
54-56 Surname unclear due to fading; ssems to be something like Ristler or Rietler.
57 Orignal list has as transcribed here: origin the occupation column and occupation in
the origin column.
80-82 Surname may begin with a B. Passenger 80 seems to be Johanne.
83-84 Surname seems to be Dobbscheck or Dollscheck.
89 Given name may be Wiliam.
94 Volkmann (Völkmann) has an umlauted o so may also be Voelkmann.
101 Furle (Fürle) has an umlauted u so may also be Fuerle.
110 Muller (Müller) has an umlauted u so may also be Mueller.
112 Muller (Müller) has an umlauted u so may also be Mueller.
113 Kammer (Kämmer) has an umlauted a so may also be Kaemmer.
128 Surname seems to be something like Seipel.
155 Given name may be Mary.
171 Surname seems to be either Wedez or Wedeg.
175 Surname may be Huff.
