Ship Harmonia
I, Russel Doane master of the Ship Harmonia do solemnly, sincerely, and truly Swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board of the said ship at Glasgow from which port said ship has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died.
So help me God. (signed) Russell Doane

Transcriber's Notes:
The use of an * indicates an omission or error made by the original recorder, except in cases
where the same errors are made many times. (See Notes 1-5 below).
The use of a ? indicates a word or letters that could not be read due to quality of original
document or handwriting.
The use of a ^ indicates that the letter/letters following are superscripted.
There were no deaths on this passage; therefore, the Died on the Voyage column has been
eliminated.
The Master's first name is spelled in one place with one l, but his signature shows two l's.
The Master's notes at the end of the manifest are: Poop 53, Between deck 185, Cabin 4 for 242
total. This transcriber's list totals 244, because she has included the passengers 173 and 205.
Due to the large number of passengers who, based on their names, appear to have been
mis-categorized as to sex and occupation, they have not been asterisked.
The words spine and spiner appear many times as occupations; these are likely abbreviated
forms of spinster.
The word non is written as the occupation in many cases; this is most likely an abbreviated
form of the word none.
Some infants are shown as having occupations; it is assumed that this information has been
written on the wrong line.
The occupation of miner is written as minr several times.
10 William Livingston Occupation appears to read cymoer or cynoer.
54-57 McDonald Occupation is not legible; looks like nian or cian.
66 James Miller Occupation looks like tenlnts or tenents.
77 Mr. Catherine McGannis Should probably be Mrs.; however, sex is shown as male.
95 Thomas White Occupation looks like blacks or blacke; probably an abbreviation
for blacksmith.
97 Richard Street Occupation looks like dye, possibly enclosed with parentheses.
173 A double line is drawn in the Name space and no name was entered;
was not included in master's passenger count.
177 Mrs. Janet Pratt Age shown as 2, but Mrs. is written with name; should probably be
20-something.
185 John Bra?y The missing letter could be an n or an s.
189 George Fyfe Occupation appears to be tonstell or tonstett.
196 Janet Dunlop Occupation looks like cope maker.
205 John ???? The entire name is marked through; the surname is not legible.
It appears to begin with an F or a T; not included in master's
passenger count.
211 Thomas Aurthor Unable to clarify occupation.
220-223 Harriot James and wife Ellison, probably changed to Alice, arrived in NY
and lived in Niagara Co. where they had another son, Walter and
two daughters, Helen and Alice. Later they settled in Venango
Co., PA, following the oil fields to Ohio and Indiana. The
spelling of the last name was changed to Harriett.
237 James Scott Occupation appears to read cymoer or cynoer
239 Collin Capt C Cook On Ancestry.com, this passenger is listed as Capt Calton C. Cook.
243 ?ub Galbraith Appears to be Nub or Mub
National Archives and Records Administration, Film M237, Reel 152, List 412.
