Transcriber's Notes:

* An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original recorder, not the transcriber,
or is used to call attention to additional information in the passenger notes.

? Indicates a letter or number which could not be determined due to the condition of the
manifest or handwriting of the original recorder.

^ Indicates letters are omitted and the following letter is superscripted.

The writer of this list was apparently English and did not understand the German names. He
rarely uses umlauts and seems to spell some names phonetically i.e. Antze/Antje; Elize/Elise.

Passengers numbered 123 through 158 are written by a different writer than the rest of the list.
Hopefully, this does not indicate a page that has been mistakenly copied from another ship list.

4-8 Second letter of surname may be e making the name Reder.
8 No surname listed; presumably Roder.
10 The gender seems incorrect here. Kunig is usually an abbreviation for Kunigunde, a
female name; however, there is an occupation listed.
14 Surname should probably be Neuhaus.
35 Note in far right column: died
42 Name should probably be Mittelberg.
50 Her maiden name most likely Gerdes.
53 Given name most likely Antje.
55 Gender may be incorrect here or else the occupation.
57 The entry: 12 infants may be a note by the writer indicating the number of infants
on board. Presumably the surname should be Buss
61-65 Taupke (Täupke) has an umlauted a so may also be Taeupke.
66-71 Cannot determine if surname is Aske (in wich case the given name is Arn W.) or Waske.
72 Note in far right column: Drowned
 74-75 Surname may be Ketler.
96-97 Surname should probably be Ipelmann.
123 Note in name column: Drowned
130 Kuster (Küster) has an umlauted u so may also be Kuester.
134 Bultmann (Bültmann) has an umlauted u so may also be Bueltmann.
141 Muller (Müller) has an umlauted u so may also be Mueller
142 Schafer (Schäfer) has an umlauted a so may also be Schaefer.
143 Muller (Müller) has an umlauted u so may also be Mueller.
144-147 Schroder (Schröder) has an umlauted o so may also be Schroeder.
152-155 Surname looks something like Briker.
156 Name looks something like Bambrau.
159 The only passenger listed as being from America.
165 Kroger (Kröger) has an umlauted o so may also be Kroeger.
174 Note in fourth column: 17 Mai 1848 Cannot determine if this is a death date or what.
175 Notation of "1 Inf" may indicate a babe in arms.
179 Note in far fight column: drowned
183 Note in far fight column: drowned
188 I think the entry after the word child in this line is "Ift. (infant).
