An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the manifest or something in the Transcriber's Notes to which the reader should refer. The transcriber numbers the passengers consecutively, even though they are not numbered in the original manifest. "Male" and "Female" in the Sex column are shortened to "M" and "F" for formatting reasons. The manifest is in good condition and easily readable. However, the recorder's handwriting is difficult to decipher because many letters are not carefully or distinctly formed resulting in an uncertain transcription of names. Though done with care, the resultant transcription is subject to errors and should be viewed with some skepticism. 3-4 Passengers' full Occupation is recorded as "Sister of Charity". 16 Surname appears to be either "Hill" or "Hase".
