I, Robt Leitch, Master of the Br Str City of Boston, do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect List of all the Passengers taken on board the said Br Str at L'pool from which Port the said (blank) has now arrived; and that on said List is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said Passengers who have died on said Voyage and the names and ages of those who died.

Transcriber's Notes:

A question mark (?) indicates a letter or a number that can not be transcribed
with certainty.

An asterisk (*) indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the
manifest or something in the Transcriber's Notes to which the reader should refer.

A caret (^) indicates that the following letter in a word or name is superscripted.

The transcriber numbers the passengers consecutively, even though they are not
numbered in the original manifest.

The entry "United States" in the destination country column is shortened to
"U. States" for formatting reasons. "Male" and "Female" in the Sex column are
shortened to "M" and "F" for the same reason.

For many of the passengers, the recorder lists the initial of their given name, but
for others he employs an abbreviated version of their given name, such as "Chas" for
Charles, "Thos" for Thomas, "Hy" for Henry, "My" for Mary, "Jno" for John,
"Geo" for George, "Mgt" for Margaret, "Bgt" for Bridget and "Jas" for James.
The recorder also abbreviates given names by writing the first few letters of the name,
then skipping letters and then writing the final letter as superscripted. In these
cases, the transcriber uses the symbol (^) to indicate that the following letter is
superscripted, i.e., "M^l" for Michael, Tho^s for Thomas, Sam^l for Samuel, W^m for
William, etc. Othertimes, the recorder abbreviates names by writing the first few
letters, skipping letters and then adding the final letter of the name, i.e., Patk
for Patrick, Margt for Margaret, "Elizth" for Elizabeth, "Ml" for Michael etc..

The recorder of the manifest often abbreviates a passenger's Occupation, such as
"Merch" or "Mercht" for Merchant, "Mech" or "Mech^c" for Mechanic, "Inft" for Infant,
"Ch^d" for Child, "Spt", "Spin", "Spins" or "Spinst" for Spinster, "Carp^r" for
Carpenter and "Lab^r" for Laborer.

The Orlop deck was the lowest deck of a ship having at least four decks.

11 Passenger's name is entirely too faint to be read and deciphered.
12-19 Only ditto marks are used in place of surname implying that the surname is the
same as surname of passenger number 11 which is too faint to be deciphered.
57-62 Surname appears written as "Kelty", but might possibly be "Kelly".
73 Surname is recorded as "Foarty", but might possibly be "Fogarty".
74 Surname is recorded as "Rearten", but might possibly be "Rearden".
81-84 Surname is either "Joukhoft" or "Jonkhoft".
85 Surname is either "Gurling" or "Geerling".
87 Surname is recorded as "Koofmann", but might possibly be "Koffmann".
101-105 Surname is possibly "Schufsman" or "Scheefsman".
112-113 Surname appears to be written as "Memayer", but might possibly be "Niemayer".
138 Surname is possibly "Phisterer" or "Plisterer".
166-167 Surname is recorded as Ritchard", but might possibly be "Richards" or "Pritchard".
180 Surname is possibly "Hemman" or "Stemman".
208 Surname is recorded as "Marrott", but might possibly be "Marriott".
210 Surname is recorded as Fearis", but might possibly be "Ferris".
213 Surname is recorded as either "Damsey" or "Dumsey", but might possibly be "Dempsey".
235 Surname is recorded as "Burn", but might possibly be "Burns".
245 Surname is recorded as "Fannigan", but might possibly be "Fanagan" or "Flannagan".
250 Surname is recorded as "McManns", but might possibly be "McMannis".
