I, Israel L Lawson, do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest of Passengers subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs for the District of New York, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the Passengers received on board the Barque Beverley whereof I am Master, from Liverpool. condition of the manifest or handwriting of the original recorder.
^ Indicates letters are omitted and the following letter is superscripted.
There were two list takers for this manifest and they duplicated efforts on some of the
passengers. Whomever filmed this passenger list filmed all pages, even though there were
duplications. This transcriber has not duplicated passengers, but has used the lists that
were the easiest to read.
All passengers were shown as intending to become inhabitants of the United States, and that
column has been eliminated from this list.
The Died on the Voyage column has been eliminated, as there were no deaths shown, except as
noted below for passengers 2 and 3.
Passengers were numbered by the transcriber for ease of referencing.
1-4 These passengers are bracketed and labeled Cabin.
2-3 In the Died on Voyage column, on the line corresponding with passenger 2, the notation
1 Child is made. Also in that column, for passenger 3, the notation died is made. It
is presumed that the intent was to indicate that 1 child died, but it is impossible to
tell which passenger died. Neither passenger 2 or 3 are children.
