Transcriber's Notes:
The column, "Date and Cause of Death" was eliminated from this transcription as there
were no deaths on this passage. The original lister added a column regarding the number of
packages the passengers brought. This is listed as the last column. Where two or more people
are traveling together, the lister joined them together with a bracket, has attributed the luggage
to the first person in the group with a parenthese bracket for following passengers. There are
several places that a short line is drawn, which would indicate "no luggage". This is shown as
a "0", but it may be that someone else is sharing luggage with them.
The original lister numbered the passengers and signed the document at the end. Therefore,
it would seem to be a complete manifest.
An asterisk (*) is used to refer to an item in the transcriber's notes, which further
explains the entry.
A question mark (?) is used for letter/letters that cannot be read because of the quality
of the document. Where possible a suggestion is given in the Transcriber's Notes of what
the letter/letters may be.
A circumflex (^) is used to indicate missing letters in a name or word. The original
lister showed this by writing the final letter smaller and raising it above the line.
17 This passenger is listed as a male, yet identified as a Spinster.
20 This passenger is listed as a male, wife.
22 Surname: Cannon, Cannorn.
27 This passenger is listed as a male, wife. Perhaps the name is really Roberta?
55 Given name: Garret, Ganet.
62 Surname: Torney, Tooney.
70 Surname: Carberry, Carbeny.
74 and 75 Each of these passengers has his own luggage; however, there seems to be a curved
line between the two names. Does this indicate they are traveling together?
84 Surname: Cotler, Cotter. Also, this passenger seems to be mistakenly identified as a
female; however, the given name and the occupation would indicate that he is a male.
95 The occupation has been written over. One can see Spinster and Laborer. The given name
could be either Jane or James, probably James.
100 Surname: Tully, Tally, Tulby, Talby.
108 & 111 It appears that the original lister mistakenly identified the one child as the wife;
passenger #111 actually is the wife.
141 and 142 There is no luggage amount indicated; however these two names are bracketed
together.
173 Halvey, Halocy.
