DISTRICT OF NEW YORK - PORT OF NEW YORK
I, E. G. Lott Master of the R.M.S. "Asia" do solemnly, sincerely and truly affirm that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by Me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board of the said S.S. "Asia" at Liverpool from which port said S.S. "Asia" has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died.

List or Manifest OF ALL THE PASSENGERS taken on board the R M S "Asia" whereof E G Lott is Master, from Liverpool, burthen 1214 tons.
Columns represent: Name, Age, Sex, Occupation, The country to which they severally belong, The country to which they intend to become inhabitants, Died on the Voyage, and Part of the Vessel occupied by each passenger during the voyage. No deaths were recorded on the voyage and this column has been omitted from the transcription. The column Part of the Vessel occupied was renamed by the scribe to "if ever in U.S.".

The transcription preserves the original spelling.

The manifest scribe numbered the passengers.

All ditto marks on the original manifest have been replaced with the actual words 
indicated.

On the first page of the manifest, "1^st Cabin" was recorded in the Space Occupied
column above the first passenger line of information; "Cabin" was recorded
vertically in the Died on Voyage column. No Space Occupied information was recorded
on the second page of the manifest.


17-18 3rd letter of surname not clear, could be Kulter or Kutter.
22    1st letter of first name not clear, could be 'G' or 'Z'; 5th 
      letter of first name obscured by lower extension of letter 'J' 
      in surname above.
27    3rd letter of surname not clear.
34    2nd number of Age not clear, could be 10y or 18y.
39    5th letter of surname not clear, could be Langiton or Langston.
41    2nd letter of surname not clear, could be Beninger.
49    1st initial not clear, could be 'H' or 'M'.
61    Superscripted letter(s) of first name illegible, could be M^rs.
67    1st number of Age not clear, could be 23y or 33y.
74-75 3rd letter of surname not clear, could be Harney or Hasney.
