I, F. Hederich, do solemnly, sincerely and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board the said Bremen Bark Argonaut whereof I am Master, from Bremen So help me God. Sworn to this 14th day of March 1846

?  Indicates a letter or number which could not be determined due to the condition
   of the manifest or handwriting of the original recorder.

^  A ^ followed by a letter indicates that the letter was superscripted.

*  Names were transcribed as seen regardless of spelling.

*  Passengers where numbered by the transcribers for ease of referencing.

*  None died during the voyage, therefore this coloumn was eliminated.

*  All passengers came from Germany and intended to stay in the United States. Therefore 
   the 2 coloums "country to which they belong" and "country where they intend to be 
   inhabitants" where eliminated.


 29 - 33:  Boving is spelled with o Umlaut. 
           These passengers are part of a big group of people who emigrated from the 
           Munsterland (u Umlaut) area in Germany to the United States. They came from
           Burgsteinfurt.  More information can be found at Auswanderungen im 19. Jahrhundert, 
           Emigration in the 19th Century. Click on the link in the top left corner,

           Burgsteinfurt.  Permission to  publish this information has been granted by Wilhelm 
           Alff, one of the authors of this website. Currently the website is in German only,

 35 & 36:  Kruger is spelled with u Umlaut.
 39:       note "born on the voyage".
 40 & 41:  Schluter is spelled with u Umlaut.
 52:       That was what was written for occupation.
 65:       Korner is spelled with o Umlaut.
 71 & 72:  Bohmer is spelled with o Umlaut.
 75:       Surname maybe Willmer.
 76:       Surname maybe Nelle.
 79:       Sporer is spelled with o Umlaut.
 83:       Munch is spelled with u Umlaut.
 92:       Schroter is spelled with o Umlaut.
100:       the last name could be Stoher.
101:       Bernhoft is spelled with o Umlaut.
107 & 108: Surname can not be read as it is squeezed into small space, maybe Levimtz 
           or many other things.
