Transcriber's Notes:
The use of (*) asterisk indicates either difficulty in deciphering the handwriting of the
original recorder or it calls attention to additonal information in the Transcriber's Notes
below.
The use of (?) indicates a letter or number that cannot be transcribed definitely.
The use of (^) indicates that the letter or letters following are superscripted.
All children under 1 year old were recorded as Inft (presumably for infant) in the month
section of the Age column.
All ditto marks on original manifest have been replaced by the actual words intended.
The only occupation recorded was a superscripted Lab^r which is presumably for laborer.
In the Sex column all the male passengers were recorded as either Male or M. All the female
passengers were recorded as FMale, FM or F. These entries have been transcribed just as the
original recorder wrote them.
Columns for where passengers are from and where they are going are completely blank with the
exception of the first passenger on each page of the manifest. All passengers were from
Great Britain and were all going to the United States. These columns have been transcribed
exactly, using the same abbreviations that the original recorder used.
There was no sworn statement included on this manifest.
Three deaths were recorded out of the 238 passengers on board. They have been notated below.
The column 'Died on the voyage' has been omitted.
18-20 Surname cannot be transcribed definitely due to a crease or dark line
on the manifest.
56 No given name was recorded.
61 No given name was recorded.
73 No given name was recorded.
78 Passenger died during the voyage.
82 Recorded as infant, most likely not really a laborer.
95 Not sure of last letter in surname, could be l or t.
136 Recorded as infant, most likely not really a laborer.
153 Passenger died during the voyage.
187 Passenger entered as a male by the original recorder.
197 Passenger died during the voyage.
218 Middle initial cannot be transcribed definitely.
232 1st number in age is illegible, age could possibly be '35'.
