Female Adoptee ~ Birth Name: Doris Daly

Born Kansas City, Missouri ~ 07/28/1945

In Search Of Birth Family

Hi!

I am looking for my birth family (mother, father, siblings). I especially would love to find my birth mother and tell her how grateful I am that she gave me the opportunity to be lavished with the love and attention of both a and mom and a dad! She gave me an incredible life.

I was born 7-28-1945 at 10:30am at (I think) St. Vincent's Hospital in Kansas City, MO (no longer there); and adopted less than 2 weeks after my birth from St. Anthony's Home for Infants which was, at that time, located next to the hospital. The hospital and infants' home were both part of the Catholic Diocese of Kansas City, MO. The MD's name was Fred B. Kyger. On June 6th 1986 the infants' home property was sold to Welcome House, an alcoholic rehab agency called Benilde Hall on East 23rd.

I found my birth name, Doris Daly, through an online contact who checked the Missouri Birth Index for me. The birth certificate on file with the state of MO shows the name given me by my adoptive parents (Kathy Tutorino) and lists my adoptive parents as my birth parents. The adoption was completed around May 18, 1946. I am 5'5" tall, have dark brown hair and dark brown eyes.

I grew up as an only child with a large Italian Catholic family since my mom and dad each had seven brothers and sisters. I am happily married with grown children and living in an Atlanta GA suburb. We moved from Kansas City to Atlanta in 1977. If she’s still living (and I hope she is) I don't want to disturb her life. But if she is open to a reunion it would be a blessing to have her in my life.

I have a profile on Facebook and I have registered on many adoption search sites. If you have any information about any member of my birth family, please contact me. Kathy

It is our hope that many wonderful reunions will result from the Adoption Story Board. Stories are accepted from any member of the adoption triad, adoptees, birth parents, siblings, and adoptive parents. We encourage those who have been reunited to share their stories too. However, if you just want to share information and for some reason a reunion seems out of the question, you can still add your story to this website. Your name and email address will remain confidential if you wish.

Peace to you and those you love,
Aunt Patty, Founder/Coordinator
