In Search Of Birth Family and History
I was told I have a sibling who was seven years old when I was born.

I am searching for my history, as I don't know much about it. I'm 23 years old, married and I have two beautiful daughters! :) It would be great to know more about my biological family and history, as my daughters are the only bio-relatives I know of! My medical information would be a big plus.
I know very little information regarding my adoption, but here's what I have.

I was born on July 5th, 1985 at 9:28 a.m. in Glen Cove, New York. I was adopted shortly after. My adoptive parents lived in Brooklyn, New York.
According to my non-identifying information, I weighed 7 lbs 3 ozs at birth. My mother was 25 years old; she was Jewish and had completed the 10th grade. She worked as a waitress.
There was also a child born to my mother who was 7 years old when I was born. I have no idea if he/she was adopted or not, or knows of my existence.
My adoption was handled through a private placement and no agency was involved. I know it's not a lot, but it's all I have.
The first picture is of me and my older brother; the second picture was taken when I was learning to crawl. (1986)

I have always been interested in nature and the sciences, biology, the outdoors, world cultures... I enjoy listening to what people have to say; everyone's story is different. I think I listen more than I talk. I play the bass guitar, good with beats, and have a good ear for music. I enjoy being with people, but I also NEED my solitude at times. The picture was taken in 2006.

I've always been drawn to the healthcare fields and I'm seriously considering becoming an Occupational Therapist. Herbal medicine, accupuncture, qi gong and the like are intriguing to me and I enjoy learning about them as well.

I'd say I'm simplistic in a sense that I feel a lot in our society is unnecessary and causes more harm than good. That isn't to say that I don't enjoy some creature comforts, I just feel that there is a lot that we'd be better off without. There is also a lot that I feel we need... like a stronger sense of community. I care about and like to help people when I can, and it's hard for me to understand how some people are really only interested in themselves and will help someone only if they can gain something from it. I'm glad, though, that there are also so many people who really do care and can lend a hand to people they don't even know! So thank you for helping me out with my search and for giving me this opportunity to advertise a bit. ;)
Warmest Regards,
Chaim
It is our hope that many wonderful reunions will result from the Adoption Story Board. Stories are accepted from any member of the adoption triad, adoptees, birth parents, siblings, and adoptive parents. We encourage those who have been reunited to share their stories too. However, if you just want to share information and for some reason a reunion seems out of the question, you can still add your story to this website. Your name and email address will remain confidential if you wish.
Peace to you and those you love,
