Brig Wm. Nash
I, Henry McBride, Master of the Br* Brig Wm* Nash do solemnly, sincerely and truly Swear that the following List or Manifest subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board of the said Brig at Cow Bay CB* from which port said Brig has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex and the occupation of each of the said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died. So help me God.

The use of a ? indicates a word or letters that could not be read, due to quality of original document. Br is an abbreviation for British The m of Wm is written in superscript and underlined throughout CB stands for Cape Breton, a part of Nova Scotia, Canada. Coal mining has always been a major part of the Cape Breton economy. May 1867 - 6 appears as open topped "O", but 6 is confirmed by cover paper of list, transcription of which follows--Brig Wm Nash May [17]1/67 Cow Bay stamped 423. PASSENGERS - printed word more or less obliterated by ink blot. Deaths column eliminated from record as there were no deaths on the voyage. Passenger numbers added to aid with referencing.
