SS Wisconsin


DISTRICT OF NEW YORK – PORT OF NEW YORK
I, Thos. R. Owen, Master of the /SS/ Wisconsin do solemnly, sincerely and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board of the said /SS/ Wisconsin at Liverpool & Queenstown from which said ports said /SS/ Wisconsin has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died. So help me God Thomas R. Owen, Master Sworn to, this 16 April 1879, Before me, (signature unreadable)*.
List or Manifest Of ALL THE PASSENGERS taken on board the /SS/ Wisconsin whereof Thos. R. Owen is Master, from Liverpool via Queenstown burthen 2,386 tons.
Columns represent Name, Age (years/months), Sex, Occupation, The country to which they severally belong, The country in which they intend to become inhabitants, and Part of the vessel occupied by each passenger during the voyage.

Transcriber's notes:

There were no deaths on the voyage.  Blanks in age column were like that on the manifest.
*   If I wanted to make a guess on the Collector's name, I'd say maybe Archibald Di Cal.
 9.    Could be Moloney.
10.    Could be Rasmussen.
11.    Could be Hamsdotter.
16.    Could be Corrigan.
36-43. Last few letters could be anything.
55-56. Could be Mannais.
58.    Fold in paper, can't make out missing letters.
86,    Could be Gie or Gee.
92.    Missing letter could be a D or W.
