Wilson Kennedy
The Wilson Kennedy arrived from Plymouth to Sydney in 1852, with 481 immigrants. My ancestor Maria Burdett was on board, one of the many single women who were being assisted to reach Australia by the government of the time. I have a copy of one page of the original immigration list, which provides more detail than the passenger list does, so for about 20 names you will note more detail than most. Correspondence 10/23/01 passengers Randle and Tillyard
My ancestor Caroline Tillyard married a William Ward, reputedly of the
ship "Wilson Kennedy" but not on the transcibed passenger list, shortly
after arrival in Sydney. The marriage was witnessed by another
passenger, - Mary Ann Randle and the imigraton agent. Caroline was 17
and not 19 as entered in the list. Does anyone know what happened to
Caroline after 1852? Martin Wain

Passengers on Wilson Kennedy - Alfred Emery, Brickmaker and wife Hannah (nee Harris)
are my Great Great Grandparents on my fathers side. Alfreds parents James and Sophia
were on the ship but she died at sea. I can't find any further record of James.
Alfred lived at Waterloo Estate Sydney making bricks, wife had three children
died after third. Second and third child died as infants. Married again had 10
children settled in Tumut Owned brickworks property, upright citizen, Freemason etc.

My mother's great-grandfather, William Went (born ca 1814 in Cambridgeshire, England)
and his wife Mary along with their six children traveled on board the ship Wilson Kennedy which
departed from Plymouth, England and arrived in Sydney in 1852. The family settled in the Bega
Valley District, New South Wales, Australia. William's son, James, is my great-grandfather. I
would love to find a photograph of the Wilson Kennedy. Ron Boyd
