Correspondence 07/22/01 passengers Fitzwilliam and Mayer
Regarding the Ship Princess Charlotte out of Liverpool to New Orleans,
4 December 1827. The 15 year old male, Maher definitely was Philip Maher,
who in 1832 inherited the plantation "Oakley" in Milliken's Bend, Louisiana,
from his brother, Mathew Francis Maher. He was accompanied by Fitzwilliam
age 30. I suspect that was Thomas Fitzwilliam born 1795, who would have
gone back to escort Philip and Fitzwilliam relatives to the new world.
Thomas came over originally around 1821.
There is no trace of Mathew Francis Maher's entry, but it should have
been in 1820. Mike Maher
