I, E. Deddes Master of the S.S. P. Caland, do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear* that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collections District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board of the said SS _____* at Rotterdam from which port said SS ______ has now arrived; and that on the said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of the said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who have died. List or Manifest of all the Passengers taken on board the German S.S. P. Caland, whereof E. Deddes is master, from Rotterdam burthen 2528 tons.
Columns represent: given name, surname, age, sex, occupation, country to which they severally belong, country in which they intend to become inhabitants, and part of the vessel occupied by each passenger during the voyage. There being no births or deaths recorded on this voyage, that column has been eliminated.

* In the first paragraph, the word swear is not part of the pre-printing on the form. It is hand written in the margin following the word truly.
* The name of the vessel is not written in the provided spaces.
1 Duremus could be Durimus, and the first name appears to be hypertext for Madelyn or similar.
3 Firevuerd could be Firwuerd.
4 Smits' first name appears to hypertext to represent Arthur or similar.
6 Schsvick could be Schsvich. There is a short straight line drawn over the top of the first h.
11 Cyassin could be Cjassin. There is a symbol over the three letters: ass. It looks like a short straight line over the a and an upside down lower case c with a tail that continues to the left over the ss part.
12 Kunsel could be Kensnel.
14 Brinkming has a line drawn through everything, as though he is scratched off the list. The last letter could be y, so the name could be Brinkminy.
20 Lunk could be Luntt.
21 Ante's first name is Philip with a letter attached at the end. The letter looks like a j. It could be an initial, although there is no space between the j and the last p in Philip; also the letter is not capitalized.
25 Bonard?'s last letter looks like a lower case d, except that it is separated from the previous letter and is as tall as the capital letters. It even looks like it could be cl.
28 Hertenshein could be Hertinshein.
30 Saloure could be Salovre. This could be a first name, but there is no last name. It could be the same last name as the person above, which is Mastner, although there are no ditto marks or -do- marks as this recorder has used.
36 Wotterroth could be Wotterrath.
42 The age could be 51 or 57.
44 Worstelman's first name looks a hypertext Magd representing Magdelyn or something similar.
57 Faul's first name appears to be a hypertext abbreviation for Rudolph or something similar.
59 Bessm could be Beum.
62-63 Wantiel could be Wuntiel or Wontiel.
64 Drinh could be Drivh. The first name could be Martin or something similar.
65 v d Wart's prefixes could represent van or von and de or der. Thus the name could be van de Wart, van der Wart, von de Wart or von der Wart.
68 de Hekker could be de Hekkes.
72 Linch could also be Lynch.
73 v d Velde's prefixes could represent van or von and de or der. The name could be van de Velde, von de Velde, van der Velde or von der Velde.
74 Naninstein could be Navinstein.
75 The age could be 21 or 27.
78 Infant Meyer's age is transcribed as it is written: ?mos.
