Correspondence 4/16/01 Passenger #11 Becker Passenger #11 is my gr. gr. grandmother Dorothea Becker (Koch). In 1852 Dorothea immigrated to America and married Pierre Koch in 1854. They lived initially in New York and had six chidren in New York. Each of the children settled in various parts of the country: William, of Boston; Albert and Julius, of Michigan City; Mrs. Louise Meyer and Mrs. Elise Fisher, of Boston; and Mrs. Anna Weise, of Patterson, N.J. Dorothea's husband, Peter, as he was known in the war records, served in the Union Army as a Full Musician (Bugler) with the 46th Infantry Regiment in New York. They lived in Boston until 1891 when they moved to Michigan City, Indiana until her husband's death in 1895, whereupon she moved back to the Boston area. I am looking for family members, please contact Teri Koch at TKoch21528@nettally.com Correspondence 8/25/01 Passenger #109 Abelein Passenger #109, George Abelein is my gr gr grandfather. He was born April 14, 1819 and died Dec. 18, 1893 in Becker County Minnesota. He married Barbara Maria Steiner, they lived in Canada, New York, and Becker County, Minnesota. Their children were Barbara Robinson, Crawford, Andrew, John, George and Emma Richmond. I am looking for family members. Please contact Les or Bonnie Schilling Correspondence added 8-23-2005 passengers 33-37 MARZOLF My ancestors arrived on Ship Jane D. Cooper 25 June 1852 Havre to New York. Their names are: Frederic Marzolf, Salome Marzolf, Frederic Marzolf, Georg Marzolf, Henry Marzolf. What I know is that the family bought property in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area - specifically property from a man named Davis in what was known as Allegheny City, PA. My line is through the eldest boy, Frederic who eventually settled on property in Shaler Township, Pittsburgh, PA. There is a school there named after our family, Marzolf Elementary School. The middle son Georg is connected to another distant relaitive who has done extensive work on her line this side of the ocean. They stayed on the property in Allegheny City. To my knowledge, Henry eventually became a merchant. The parents, Frederic and Salome are burried in Rosedale Cemetery in Pittsburgh, PA. Georg and his family are also burried there.
