Herez 34 male Priest New orleans ??* 6 Gouffu? 30 male ?????? ?????? ??* Signed Jos. Cane?* Transcriber's Notes: * The use of an * indicates an omission or error made by the original recorder. * The use of a ? indicates a word or letters that could not be read, due to quality of original document. * There were no deaths on this passage. Therefore, the Number that have died on the passage column has been eliminated. * The column headings state "county" to which they belong or to which thay intend to become inhabitants instead of "country". * Passenger numbers were added by the transcriber. * Captain's name appears several times and is either Canes, Canez, or Canis. His signature ends in an elaborate flourish below the line which is likely a "z". * Passenger # 1 Occupation was either clark or clerk. * Passenger # 2 Occupation is very smudged. It appears to be carpenter except that the final letter in the word goes below the line. Country to which he belongs is also smudged, though may begin with an "F" and might be France. * Passenger # 4 Perhaps this passenger is wife of captain, though the surnames don't appear to be quite the same. Joseph Canovas wife is stated as male though not likely, occupation is scratched through, and "matron" is in country of origin. Entry under Country to which they intend is two letters. May be lower case "us" or could be a ditto indication in which case it means New orleans. * Passenger # 5 First name either Anto or Anton. Entry under Country to which belongs is two letters. May be lower case "us" or could be a ditto indication in which case it means New orleans. * Passenger # 6 Only one name is entered for this passenger, presumably the surname. Final letter most like an "s" or "z" making the surname Gouffus or Gouffuz. Occupation smudged, may end in "lor". Country of origin smudged. Looks like it begins with "F" and ends with "ce". Could be "France". Country to which belongs is two letters. May be lower case "us" or could be a ditto indication in which case it means New Orleans.
